Karma is Tibetan. He grew up in India and Nepal and now lives in Alaska. His parents fled from Tibet, walking across the Himalayan mountains. Karma was raised as a Buddhist monk in the Swayambhunath monastery, the famous Monkey Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal. He learned music as a child from his monk teachers, including drum and rag-dun (16 feet long trumpet-type instrument). Later in his life he spent long periods of time in the jungles of Hawaii, where he learned to build and play the flute. "My music is dedicated to world peace, no violence, and freedom for my people".
