FLUTE SOLOS

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Four Immeasurables Meditation

May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness.
May they be without suffering and the causes of suffering.
May they never be without genuine joy free of suffering.
May they abide in great impartiality free of preference, attachment and aversion.

THEY STOLE MY LAND

Ngawang Sangdrol is a prominent former political prisoner from Tibet. After peaceful demonstrations consisting solely of saying and shouting “Free Tibet!” in public, she was imprisoned at the age of 13 for 9 months and then again at the age of 15. The authorities gradually increased her sentence to 23 years, making her the longest sentenced female political prisoner in Tibet. After ongoing international pressure Ngawang was released in 2002. She had spent 11 years in prison.

In 2009 Karma Lama invited Ngawang to share her experience in song. Here she tells us her story in her own words and with her own voice, accompanied by Karma’s original music.

NGAWANG NEVER ACCEPTS PAYMENT FOR TELLING HER STORY, SO FOR EVERY COPY OF THIS CD SOLD, $1 WILL BE DONATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR TIBET, ON BEHALF OF NGAWANG SANGDROL.
